home as they must be presented in offices
in the form of fax machines and multipurpose printers. This implies that the thermal printers are specialized printers
designed for a specific purpose, but how do they work? There are two ways by
which the thermal printing process operates as they have only one main component that is heat. Its process
requires the use of heat-sensitive paper. That heat-sensitive paper is often
called thermal paper which is placed in a
container provided in the thermal printer machine, with the end of the roll-fed into a slot. When the sheet reacts to
the heat of the printer head, the pigments of heat form the letters and images.
While, the thermal printing process used in
newer thermal printer models is slightly different as they now require ribbon
printer cartridges. This
new thermal printing process, the ribbon cartridge that contains ink with the
consistency amount of crayon or wax is inserted
into the printer. And again, when the thermal printer is used, the paper
is fed into the slot between the printer head and the platen roller. When the
heat is applied, the ink in the ribbon cartridge melts and sticks onto the
paper.
