You might
haven’t realized yet, but you are offered with thermal printed products almost
every single day. It all depends on how frequently you are visiting shopping centres,
of course.
Indeed,
thermal printing is one of the most popular printing techniques used by
retailers to provide you with cash or card receipts. Do you know? Inkless
printing method has been around us from decades in various forms. Since the day
it has been introduced in the market, its widely in use, which is why we are
going to let you know the mechanics involved in direct thermal printing and how
it gained its popularity.
How thermal printing works?
Since there are two types of thermal printing but neither of them using
the application of ink.
The method, called thermal transfer printing, involves the use of a
heat-sensitive ribbon to create texts or graphics on paper. On the other hand, the
second method is known as direct thermal printing, where it involves the
application of heat from a thermal print head to a substrate that has been
coated with a solidified chemical mixture of a colorless dye and a matrix.
Mechanism of
thermal receipt printer involves the
coated paper that is loaded as a roll and fed through a slot that passes it
between a rubber roller and the thermal head. The print head presented in the
receipt printed contains many dots which quickly heats specified areas of the
paper as it passes over, using those dot formations to produce letters and
graphics. Then a chemical reaction occurs with the paper’s coating between an
acid and the dye as the matrix reaches a temperature that is above melting
point to produce a black color.
You can achieve these readable texts and
graphics by purchasing Citizen CTS-801
